PLEASE NOTE

In the event of a report within one month of delivery of the package by the courier, Cordedrago guarantees its products with a refund, replacement or integration, in the event that defects are reported, or non-correspondence of the type of string with what was ordered by the customer, or finally failure to send part of the goods. The guarantee can be extended to two years if the string is mounted on the instrument after the aforementioned month and it is found to be false or prematurely broken (see below on the subject). The defect found must in any case be original, not occurred with use due to consumption or poor maintenance by the customer.
The Italian consumer code, which implements European legislation, states the following:

ex art.133, comma 1, cod. cons. - che dispone: «Il venditore è responsabile nei confronti del consumatore di qualsiasi difetto di conformità esistente al momento della consegna del bene eseguita ai sensi dell’articolo 61 e che si manifesta entro due anni da tale momento. Fermo quanto previsto dall’articolo 130, comma 2, il presente comma si applica anche ai beni con elementi digitali»

translation: ex art.133, paragraph 1, consumer code - which states: «The seller is liable to the consumer for any lack of conformity existing at the time of delivery of the goods carried out pursuant to article 61 and which becomes apparent within two years of that moment. Without prejudice to the provisions of article 130, paragraph 2, this paragraph also applies to goods with digital elements»

It should be clarified, however, that it is not intended to guarantee the life of each string for two years, as one would do for a washing machine, but only the absence of defects when mounted on the instrument. 

Cordedrago strings are "historical" strings, that is, made according to traditional criteria and with traditional raw materials.

As such, they cannot be compared to a nylon or steel string, which have a completely different tensile strength.
It is known, from musical iconography, that broken "cantini" on lutes are a typical memento mori, to indicate the ephemeral duration of human life.
Therefore, you cannot and should not ask a historic string maker to make eternal strings, but you must expect to obtain strings made with ancient criteria that offer a historic sound, beautiful and rich in harmonics.
Cordedrago professionals and historic customers know all this well, and they know that the duration of a first string can vary from two weeks to just over a month, while the middle strings can last several months, and the bass strings can last two years or more.
The real problem is modern or inexperienced musicians, who expect to obtain European or standard guarantees.
The advice is therefore to contact us in case of problems - any craftsman or industrial brand can make mistakes, and guarantees exist for this - and agree on a friendly solution, which, in case of defects or "premature" breakages will involve the immediate replacement of the string, or the addition of the strings under guarantee to the next order.

Cordedrago strings are not a stock product, but are made for each individual order based on the customer's request, both in terms of diameters and the various types of twisting and manufacturing.

When you place an order on the website www.cordedrago.it, ranges of gauges are proposed for each type of string, and the customer selects the exact gauge he wants. The raw strings are therefore made and rectified from time to time based on the customer's request and are not pre-packaged products.
This means that they cannot be resold in the event of a return, and this makes it impossible to guarantee the return, without any reason given, of the goods within 14 days as prescribed by the European Community, both because the label bears the customer's name and once unsealed it becomes unsellable, and because the order, being of a "tailor-made" type, i.e. made to measure, can no longer be modified (an oiled string and in any case packaged in a figure 8 can no longer be rectified) nor resold.

Indeed, with regard to the question concerning the right of withdrawal, pursuant to art. 59 of the consumer code, it can be deduced that:

«The right of withdrawal referred to in articles 52 to 58 for distance contracts and contracts negotiated outside commercial premises is excluded in relation to:...

c) the supply of goods made to measure or clearly personalized;».

 

 COPPER LOADED STRINGS
For strings loaded with copper or other metal powder, the warranty only concerns the possible presence of obvious defects or falsity of the string.

AS THESE ARE CUSTOM-MADE STRINGS, RETURNS ARE NOT ACCEPTED IN THE EVENT THAT THE STRINGS DO NOT FIT IN THE HOLES OF THE BRIDGE OR THE PEGS. Those who order copper loaded strings know - or should know - that their diameter is about 15%/18% less than that of a string in bare gut, and therefore cannot be as thin as a silver wound string for which holes are usually made by luthiers.
